I’m Martha Shukuru and am 23 years old. I hold a diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) from the University of Dodoma, Tanzania. I live with my grandmother who is 70 years old. My grandmother has always depended on me for basic needs such as food, shelter, and clothes. Both of my parents passed away when I was only two years old in 2002. Since I established this daycare I have been able to provide food and clothes for my grandmother. Not only that but also I can now pay for water and electricity bills as well as house rent. Also, I have been able to employ one worker who is helping me fulfill some daily duties here at the daycare. I was involved in CII and Dickson's projects.
The biggest challenge I face is the lack of a good building that will accommodate both first and second-year daycare pupils. I request well-wishers to help me grow this project since it will create more job opportunities for the community around it and help children from vulnerable environments.
